Accrufer®/Feraccru® (ferric maltol) is a novel, stable, non-salt based oral therapy for adults with iron deficiency, with or without anemia. Accrufer®/Feraccru® has a novel mechanism of action compared to other oral iron therapies and has been shown to be an efficacious and well-tolerated therapy in a range of clinical trials. Role Description Summary

The Senior Director/Vice President of Commercial Operations and Analytics reporting to the CCO of Shield Therapeutics will lead and manage the commercial operations functions including Analytics and Insights, Sales Operations & Data Strategy, Commercial Services, Sales Training, Forecasting, Trade and Distribution, Incentive Compensation, and Business Development Assessment. The position will lead a team that provides analytical and operational support for Commercial and other functions within the organization and play a key role in providing analytical insights and efficient operational support.​​

Core Accountabilities
  • Lead and evolve the Commercial Operations function with responsibility for establishing and maintaining the analytic and operational infrastructure for supporting the U. S. Commercial organization
  • Act as a strategic partner to sales, marketing, finance and other teams providing data-driven recommendations to drive revenue growth, improve customer experience, and enhance operational efficiency.
  • Define and monitor data management and structure needed to optimize analysis, synthesis, integration, and dissemination of needed data insights.
  • Create the vision and develop overall strategy and direction for the department.
  • Provide analytical insights through data analytics and market research to the Business Unit leadership to understand the business and identify potential opportunities for future growth
  • Serve as an active member on the Commercial Leadership Team
  • Lead sales forecasting, planning, and budgeting processes used within the U.S. Commercial organization
  • Evaluate, plan and implement the U.S. distribution plan and be the primary decision-maker and point of contact for all aspects of our trade and distribution partners
  • Implement and manage US 3PL to ensure proper inventory management and timely delivery/communication with customers.
  • Partner with the VP of Marketing to ensure alignment with Commercial and brand strategy
  • Oversee the approach and implementation of objective analysis to support best in class sales operations programs including sales force strategy and analysis, targeting, optimal territory alignment and sales force incentive plans
  • Implement ongoing process improvement, resource optimization, quality management, timeliness and accuracy of all products and services from all functional areas that support the U.S. Commercial organization
  • Liaison between the U.S. Commercial organization and supply chain team to plan on optimal production and stocking of commercial product
  • Work collaboratively with the Information Technology organization to ensure the development of U.S. Commercial data strategies and systems that will allow the company to maximize efficiency and effectiveness (implement and manage as necessary)
  • Work collaboratively with Finance as a primary point of contact for budget and day to day activities related to the U.S. Commercial organization 
  • Provide assessments of all business development opportunities to determine viability for Shield and our portfolio strategy

Required Skills & Experiences
  • BA or BS degree (MBA or advanced degree a plus)
  • A minimum of 5 years of combined relevant business experience in commercial analytics, pharmaceutical analytics, and/or management consulting
  • A minimum of 2 years leading a Commercial Operations and Analytics function, preferably within a small, life sciences company.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to influence and align at all levels of the organization
  • Must be effective working in a team environment with strong collaboration skills to gain alignment within an organization
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and develop a team
  • Must be able to work in a fast paced and challenging environment with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines
  • Working knowledge of pharmaceutical secondary data sources
  • Experience in sales force strategy and optimization projects
  • Strong leadership, team building and organizational skills. Proven ability to coach and develop staff as well as technical ability to coordinate functional business activities
